Benalmadena is just 19 kilometres away from Malaga. It consists of three parts, the first is the old village situated on the mountain hills and it is called Benalmadena Pueblo. In this part you will find the typical Andalusian village with small streets, white houses and many old churches and nice squares. From several points in this village the few over the coast is stunning.
Arroyo de la Miel is the most populated of the three and lies between the coast and the old village. This is where you will be able to find most of the businesses, restaurants, shops and also a sports complex and theme park. It is more or less the economical centre of Benalmadena, the main reason is its good rail connection with Fuengirola, Torremolinos and Malaga.
Further down to the coast is Benalmadena Costa , by tourist the most visited part of Benalmadena. As the name suggests this part of the city is on the coast and it has a stunning coastline of 9 kilometres. The marina of Benalmadena has won many awards for its design combined with functionality. This is just one of the reasons why Benalmadena is known as one of the leading places in tourism in the Costa del Sol. It has many facilities ranging from water sports to golfing to hiking.
Not to forget the beautiful park, La Paloma Park, with it few over the sea.
