This is the capital of the province Malaga and also the largest city in the surroundings. Depending on the seasonal changes, the city has approximately 550 thousand in habitants. Malaga is an old city with historic value. This can still be seen in the old city centre, with its many churches, castle and other historic buildings. This 2,000 year old has seen many people control this city, but it has always kept its commercial function.

But Malaga is much more than a lively and growing city. It has some great green areas, where it is easy to get away from the city and relax for a while. In the old city centre are the Alameda Gardens and just outside are the Jardines de la Concepcion.

Malaga is the centre of the Costa del Sol. The city s great infrastructure (airport, highways) makes it easy to go somewhere else.
Even nowadays Malaga is one of the bigger commercial centres of Spain. A proof of that is the Malaga Airport, which is growing every year. It is the fourth airport of Spain and handled 12 million people in 2004. In the city commercial activities are concentrated around Calle Larios, a street called after a famous Malaga family.
